Just got a call from the same number a couple of minutes ago. I asked for the name and he responded Jack Taylor. He has  thick Indian accent. I didn't know of such fraudulent calls going around, I was dumbfounded and gave out my dads cellphone number. But i knew something fishy was going on when he said that there were open claims and that if it was not resolved that my dad would be arrested in the next 60 minutes. I quickly called my dad and told him what just happened. Good thing that my dad was already aware of such fraud calls going around. He is going to call the Canada Revenue Agency and report the name and the number.

I just got the same call, someone with an a really thick Indian accent claiming to be Canada Revenue Agency. Right away I knew something was odd because he wanted to talk to my mom, he only said the first letter of my mom's name and her last name. Which I am guessing they are getting names and phone numbers from the phone directory. They said my mom had a open claim, if it didn't get resolved, they were going to place a legal action against my mom where she might "go behind bars." I told them if there was such a claim, I am sure we would have received a letter from CRA instead of a phone call. He kept repeating that legal action was going to take place against my mom (their tactic to scare you); I told him ya I don't believe a word, seems that you are trying to scam people and I just hung up.

With tax season underway, tax scam calls have started. I have had calls over the last couple of days from a person with an Indian voice, going by the name of 'Jack Taylor'.  He claims he is with the Canada Revenue Agency, explaining i have an open claim with them and asking me if i am aware of that. When i pressed him for a phone number so i can confirm this claim with the REAL Canada Revenue Agency, he paused then hung up.
