Ann,
The Cerebral Palsy Association is a different charity all together. Caller ID will show CPAA for Alberta branch on call display when they call. This number is AACL Alberta Association for Community Living which does not display on your phone. They raise money for people on government assistance who are developmentally delayed. I have donated to both thinking it was the CPAA each time. I realized my confusion in December when I was stood up twice for pick ups then they showed up without prior arrangements a week later. I was told by the girl on the phone that her office location is St. Albert and it was to serve that area and Morinville? They sell donations to Value Village. I don't even live near those areas or within an hour drive one way! I am blocking them from now on.

My experience is that the callers are volunteers who benefit from the charity... eg. people with cerebral palsy, which is why they may sometimes not sound quite professional. I have been donating a couple of times a year for many years, and they have always picked up when they said they would.

Their organization needs to show the company/charity name on call display and speak clearly please. Very polite caller. Looking for clothes and household goods.

Yeah, despite three occaisions where I made it clear I wasn't interested, calls persisted to this day. Once they call, hang up and dial *60. Once connected, dial #01#. This will add the number to your blocked call list and this particular nuisance will be eliminated. You can only block up to 12 numbers using this method, but I think these guys are worth cutting off. They appear to be collecting for some community fund, but I suspect the community is merely themselves.

Sample complaints we have found for (780) 801-1663

I called that number and left a voicemail to remove me from the call list after receiving 5 unwanted calls from the number.  If they call me again I will make a complaint and hopefully get them fined 10K for harassing people. Thanks Chas, hopefully they leave me alone but at least I know who to hold accountable for all the unwanted calls with no message.

They've called five times today and it's only 2:00 pm. Not answering.

Same experience as others here - recently multiple calls with no one on the other end (dead air)Earlier this year we got a live person asking for donations for Alberta Association For Community Living (sometimes their numbers show as AACL), and like the person above said - they did not show up. Stuff was left out for 3 days. We called to see why it wasn't picked up they said "he couldn't find the address" which is complete baloney since we live in one of the central, simplest and most straight forward neighbourhoods, with basic grid pattern streets and avenues (so no cul-de-sacs, no names, no bendy obscure roads!) It doesn't get any easier than the corner of X street and Y avenue! The kicker was they actually convinced my mom to put it out again, she did - and they didn't show for a second time! I've blocked their number, but they have more than one number and so we still get calls - but we won't answer or ever donate to them again, this is an obnoxious and unreliable outfit.

Also got dead air, according to other forums anybody who answers gets dead air. One comment was that it's a telemarketer for a charity but i'm not convinced.

I keep getting this number calling me but no answer it's so annoying Luckily I checked your website and saw the 1-800 number and called all I got was an answering machine which tokk to a Roy Pearson in Edmonton I left a Message to heve me removed. So Hopefully the Phone Harassment will stop I hate being hounded at home.

They called asking for donations, i think they said aac.org or something. I don't know where they got our number from.
