I came home yesterday to find this number on my call display also.
I too called the number back and found that it was out of service.
I believe the phone number has been "spoofed" (faked out).
Scam artists regularly engage in practices like this in order to avoid being identified.
Immediately after receiving a call like this you could dial *57 (call trace) and have TELUS (your phone company) trace where the call REALLY originated from. You could then file a police report if you believe that the caller is trying to commit fraud (scam you). TELUS will only release the results of a call trace to the police if you have filed a police report.
I would also complain to TELUS (I've done it repeatedly) about HOW you can be receiving a call with SPOOFED caller id information - i.e. HOW they allow such a call to traverse their network.
It seems to me that we all pay extra for our Call Display services; the least that TELUS (or other phone companies) could do is ensure that the information displayed is accurate. I think TELUS itself should block / presvent a spoofed call from getting through to a customer's telephone. The whole situation is absurd at present.

My friend in Edmonton received a call under this number (780) 429-1077 and my full name. I am in Ontario. Then we both called this number and says not assigned. 411.ca says that it is a computer book store in Edmonton. I believe that someone is using our line for long distance calls. Another word, they steal our phone line to pose as someone else. My friend?s provider in Edmonton is Shaw and mine in Ontario is Rogers. Our providers are charging us huge in comparison to Europe and this is what we get. We get scammed. Why even we need to report this to police. I am sure police is aware of this. So, they have to do something about it.

This is a number from a company called "North American Online Network", they sell home bundles for satellite or cable. I drunkenly agreed to be a part of this and it is a legit business, but now I'm stuck paying $3000 to them, but I'm assuming once I start "working" for them I'll be the one calling or reaching out to people to purchase products. their website is legit as well, go check it it.

And we were both in Edmonton at the time
