I received a call from this number saying (in an offshore accent) that they were coducting a credit review.  i told them I hadn't requested credit from anyone.  i asked who (I had authorized) for a credit search but was told that they couldn't reveal the name.  Seriously - I told them that this is quite improper and hung up.
Beware.

Received a voice mail from someone about a month ago saying I owed money to 1-800-sex-time  or something like that.  Then on Saturday night (march 27) I received a call at 4am from (780) 424-5841 asking for me, I said I wasn't in and asked to take a message but the caller insisted they talk to me.  I told them it was 4 am and to FO.  They called back immediately after but i did not answer.  Tried calling the # back but can't get through, after seeing these other posts I will now contact authorities.

I just got a call from this #.  The fellow on the other end was telling me my # was selected for a cell phone promotion fro Bell Canada.  Seemed rather fishy, when I told him I already had a phone and didn't need another one...insisted it was absolutely free.  Kept insisting it was free, no strings... I said NO and he continued his spiel.  It was his insistence and the mention of "just taking my contact info" that seemed odd.  I declined the offer and said goodbye.  Tried to reverse look up the # and nothing showed up.

I recieved a call from this number it was someone with a heavy accent, I said wrong number and hung up. They called again but did not leave any message. When they called again a few days later  I ignored it not recognizing the number.
I don't give out this cell phone number I am using. I am curious to see how they got it.

I am getting calls from  (780) 424-5841 the display reads unknown--when i answer they hang up--i call them back and a message says that the number is not asigned.

Well folks it seems that we have a number that the criminal element can use from another country. They will call you between 2-6am for they are in Nigeria. They can be any of the illegal activity gangs that are there. I wish that TELUS or ROGERS or any of the other number providers just cut them off when you get 3 complaints, you know three strikes you're out of here. But then they, the providers , do not look at it that way for them it is income and one hell of disruption in our day's activities or sleep. If you do get a voice it is from a landline that is not from this country but from one that has very poor infrastructure like Nigeria. And they may be on their cells but the connection is a little better but not that good that you can hear them clearly.Like the other callers I am wondering why the authorities in Canada are not doing anything about this. I k  ow that we are not a majority of the populous voters but we are citizen of a country that respects the privacy from these person unknow or known to us.The reason I knwo about this number I set up a sting to find out legalities that we are not looking at and our own government is just not  doing their job in protecting us from these crooks, scamers, what ever, whom ever they are we are the prey, the victims that have to pay the price and some have and will be going to jail because of these people.So please contact your Federal government representative and put a bee in their bonnet and keep at it for it is the only way that we can get results in Canada. If they do not do their job then vote them out and let them be unemployed like the rest of us.
