Called my wife saying that he was from Microsoft and we had faulty software.  She said she thought it was a scam and hung up politely.  He called back and started hitting on her.  I got on the phone and he hung up.

I got a call from this number today, it turns out to be my friend in California, US. I believe it's the IP phone gateway.

this number called the other night, I made the mistake of answering it it was a woman saying that my computer was not working properly and they wanted to scan my computer and their software would fix it.I told them my computer was fine and I was not interested 3 times but they continued to badger me so I hung up. Reading the Edmonton Sun there was a story about a similar fraud these people call and whoever lets them scan their computer they take all of your banking information and they will ask you for a credit card for payment or a wire transfer. The minimum that people loose is $500.00 and they will try and take out a credit card in your name.I am so happy I hung up the phone.

I got a call from (780) 424-5841 at 6:15pm the other evening.  The person on the other end was a male, and it sounded like his voice was computer altered to disguise his identity.  He greeted me by name so he obviously knew who he was trying to call. He claimed he was from an alarm system company, and offered me a free wireless alarm system as an Easter special.  When I said I was not interested, he asked if it was because I already had an alarm system in my home.  I told him again that I was not interested and hung up.  I seemed like he was fishing to figure out if my home was protected, and if not it could become a target for breaking and entering.  I tried calling the number back, but all I got was the message "this number is not in use". After reading the other postings, I am definitely going to report the call to the authorities.

Got a call hey do you have skype?  12 AM  I said no she hung up before i could get the woman to identify herself

Got call at 12 noon. Caller w/ a african accent tells me I won a free Bell samsung cell phone.

Ask him how he got my #. Says it's in their database. Wants to know my name and other info.
Knowing it's BS, I start to have some fun with him and ask him if it's GSM, CDMA, Pay as u Go. He just says its Free and CDMA. yeah right. Just give them info of people u hate.
