I got a call from this number today, it turns out to be my friend in California, US. I believe it's the IP phone gateway.

That number is a identity protector number for example. Some home phones dont allow "unknown name unknown number" or "private name private number" So the phoe service provider give them a "fake" number to call you with. Some even have fake names.

I received a call from this number saying (in an offshore accent) that they were coducting a credit review. i told them I hadn't requested credit from anyone. i asked who (I had authorized) for a credit search but was told that they couldn't reveal the name. Seriously - I told them that this is quite improper and hung up.Beware.

Called me at 7:10 pm. Didn't pick up because I was eating dinner. Left no message, but when I call the number back, I get the same disconnected phone message.

It might be, thanks for the information. I got a missed call from the exact same # it can't be someone so stupid to call all of us for no good reason
