Received several calls from these guys in last few days, from 3 different 778 area code numbers (BC) and never leave a message.  On callback, same recorded message about "You were called to participate in a survey, but the survey time has expired."

** Scammers ! **

If you answer (and if you get a live person) they will make you take a short "political survey" to provide veneer of respectability, then when you try to claim your "participation prize" they try to get you to give out your credit card number.

Never give out financial information over the phone.

This kind of call is going epidemic since few weeks... It a FRAUD, they want to get your financial information to clean your bank account !The idea of complaining is good but the best place is probably some police departmentas GRC or a big city one... They can find them by the phone number...

Yes, the phone companies may be doing or encouraging these practices as it helps sell services, specifically call display and number blocking, although I don't know why anyone would use any Bell services as they are generally more expensive and lower quality than much of the competition.

Buy a phone that can block numbers, ours a panasonic does all "private callers" and unknown unidentified calls as well as others by , however there is a down side to this as some bell cell phones do not pass a phone number and if a friend with a bell cell calls they can not get through..
