when i answered, no one there, just hung up

The number appears on my call display as out of area despite it being a 778 number. Sax music played for about 30 seconds and then someone with a strong mexican accent answered. She didn't seem to know who I was so I hung up.

At 12:41 today (Sept 13, 2010) I had a call from (778) 783-1190.  I picked up and said "Hello". After a brief delay a man with deep voice and foreign accent (eastern Europe or middle East) asked to speak to Mrs "[my Surname]" which was odd because my mother is dead and my ex re-married. I asked who was calling and the purpose of the call. There was another pause, about 5 seconds, during which I heard other voices and music (which I did not recognize) playing in the background.  The caller muttered something I could not understand.  I asked the caller to put someone on the phone who could speak English.  After another pause the caller muttered something again so I picked up my metal coach's whistle, blew into the phone, and hung up.  I'm on the "Do Not Call" list and use my metal whistle for back-up protection.  I encourage others to get a whistle for this purpose.  :)

This number has come up on my display several times and only says Brit. Columbia.  I answered this time and he had a very strong accent and asked for Mr or Mrs and then part of my last name.  I told him he had the wrong number and then he asked for the home owner.  We rent and so I told him that the home owner doesn't live at this number, politely told him good by and hung up.  I made a note on my calendar of the number and time in case they phone again.  I pay to have un-known callers blocked and this ticks me off to no end!

Every single day this number shows up on my display.  They call every day, all day long.  I'm so sick of this!   I tried calling the number back and I get a message saying "All Agents are busy, please leave a message".  I was very temped to leave a message, but they probably wouldn't understand. Maybe they would if spoke Hindi or Punjabi.  IDIOTS!!!

This number has come up on my call display day after day, 2 to 3 times a day for the last 2 months comes up as Brit. Columbia.  I answered last week and it sounded like it was an overseas call, loud air noise.  I kept saying hello then hung up as no one replied.  Tonite the number came up again, so I decided to answer, said hello then canned music came on.  I hung up.  It's becoming really annoying.  I'm not sure what my recourse is. Is there someone to call to complain and if so do they do anything.  This is a reall pain in the butt.
