I got a call from this number (Richmond, BC, Canada) on July 22, at 13:36 Pacific.I was not home to answer, and no voice-mail message was left.I don't recognize the number, and only know a few people in Richmond.Probably a "spoofed" caller-ID ?! A Google-search does not link the telephone-number to any person/business.Today, I got another unsolicited call, offering me a "refund" on a service-contract that I (allegedly) purchased, because they cannot currently provide the remote-administration service on my computer. Yeah, right. I purchased nothing from them, and never allow anybody to get remote-access to my computer. They tried to get me to access: www.9211.us, which has links to: SupRemo [www.supremocontrol.com], TeamViewer, and Ammyy -- all three are legitimate (but abuse-able) "remote-admin" packages. They said that they needed to get control of my computer, in order to validate that I am eligible for a refund. They seemed baffled when I said that I was running via a "limited-user" account, and thus could not install any software. When I asked them to put a "credit" onto my credit-card, they said that they could not do so. When I asked them for their telephone-number, they hung up. Good riddance! I wasted about 30 minutes of their time -- time that they wanted to spend scamming somebody more gullible than I. :-)
