This number is used by a fraudster who will send you a cheque in excess of what you were asking for in response to an ad on Kijiji, etc. You are supposed to then send a refund via Western Union. You deposit the cheque and it gets returned as fraudulent (copied stolen cheque). YOU become the victim because now you've sent money which gets picked up anywhere in the world by someone using false ID. We had posted an ad looking for homestay students. A chinese women contacted us about her daughter coming to stay.  She said she had a "friend" in Toronto who would send us the funds up front once we'd negotiated the rate.  A Mr. Brick Thomas contacted us, and sent us a check.  We'd agreed on $3,000 for 4 months but he sent $4,900.  He called, said he made a big mistake and asked us to send back the difference.  Thankfully we didn't.  Then the chinese women starts asking us to send money to her via western union.  We didn't.  

Thankfully we haven't lost anything.  I assume that the bank will call any day now to tell me the check was bogus, they haven't yet.  Either way, he will cancel it or something.  Don't take any money from Brick Thomas or anyone at the number (647) 867-5098
