We have been getting calls from this number as well. We had to get financing for a vehicle is how they got our phone number because it is an unlisted private phone number. They are very annoying, rude, obnoxius and sometimes they hang up when you do answer the phone, they won't leave a message on voicemail. I just want them off our back for good. I just did a report to the RCMP office in my area and they will be charged with harrassment. I will also be blocking their number.

Just so everyone knows, & this will piss off the collection agents: by Federal Law, a collection agency has the power to "Ask You to pay your bill and offer assistance in setting up a payment schedule" That is all. 1) they are never allowed to call you at your place of employment for any reason. 2) they can not, under any circumstances, harrass you into payment, by phone, mail or in person & they may not threaten you or your credit standing in any way. 3) You do not have to deal with a collection agency at any time. You are only obligated to deal with the original creditor, even if the agency has bought the account from them. You do not have to deal with them. 4) a collection agency can not put negative information on your credit file. 5) so in short... all they can do is "nicely" ask you to pay your bill. But we all know that they generally go way beyond that.
If you are having a problem with an agency, call the consumer bureau and report them and if it is a serious harrassment issue, or call at your place of employment, contact the police and file charges. These are federal laws that they must follow, but most offen do not and will push it to the limit. Yes, several collectors have been fired and / or charged under these laws. Some even jailed. Their employers usually get a fine & tell the authorities they never asked the employee to do that, thus leaving the employee on their own to take the blame. True sharks in every way.
If you are having financial issues, & most people do at one point or another in their lives, call a credit councilling service in your area. They are a free service in every province and will assist you. Do not deal with collectors on your own. If you can not afford to pay, the service will understand & work with you, without any judgement toward you, and no credit bruising. The calls stop immediately.

Yes, CBV Collections is correct. It is beyond harassment now. I have set all my phones to ignore these vultures but it is still frickin' annoying!!! Infoguy above, true to his name, shared some really good information & even better advice on how to deal with these pricks. They are calling me over a $120 debt i cannot pay, & was wrongly stuck with. This is an absolute pittance for the corporation they are representing, and I've told them i can't, won't pay, and that they should take me to court. Of course, they won't go that far, as obviously anything court & lawyers would cost them would be much more than the amount they hope to collect. After all that, and ensuring their client destroyed my credit rating, they STILL need to call at least 5 or 6 times a day. This strikes me as more than a little spiteful. To these [***], it's more than a business, it's a mission to do as much damage as possible to the so-called 'deadbeats' like me who are down on their luck (not to mention wrongly tagged with the charges in the first place). it would make my day...no, YEAR to see someone really stick it to them somehow. I would try, but right now I'm completely consumed with trying to feed my children & find some work. They  just  started calling before 8 am today and 9am  no message don't know who they are but they need to be stop

CBV calls looking for the debit to be paid or they will take me to court to get the money. I invited him to do so because he already knows I have declared bankruptcy and his calls should have ceased. The caller  became angry and his language became very rude. I now have a whistle beside my phone.

I am tired of this Ahole that calls my number about -6-10 times daily. I will investigate and get to the bottom of it.
