I got an e-mail and text, the e-mail said it was from craig list, and i didn't responed  so a couple hpurs later I , I received a text on phone. I'm on the national phone and cell phone do not cell on both I thought that covered texting. I guess not.

I am on CL as well and received this text at 4:07 this morning.  647 seems to be a Canadian area code from what I can see.  I've had many scammers from Canada trying to get me through CL actually. Sad.  The scams all seem really obvious though so that's good.  At least they're bad scammers. :)

I got this same text tonight and I also think it's connected to ads I ran on craigs list to rent my  vacation home - I had included my cell # in the ad. . 95% of the responses I got on craigslist were scammers wanting to send me a certified check to rent my place for a week. I took the first one seriously he and he actually sent me a fake certified check but by the time I got it I was on to the scam and knew how the game works (they send the check and expect you will deposit it - then immediately contact you to wire them back part of the money since they purposely sent you a check for more than the agreed upon amount). So tonight I actually got a call from the scammer who sent me the check - could barely understand him and his # said "restricted" on  my phone ID. He said he was calling from the UK and wanted to know why I hadn't wired him the $ and I hung up on him. An hour later I got the apple bundle text on my phone. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Is anyone (like Craigslist?) doing anything about this?  I think it's giving Craigs list a bad name!

actually i believe i got this message because, at my work, we are doing open enrollement for benefits, and there was a poster advertising: text "iasis" to 80399 to the Apple iPad giveaway.  And today i received the msg to go to claim.....

Thanks for everyone's input, I got same messages tonight on my phone and I have also used craigslist. Its truly someone with nothing better to do than to spam everyone's phones numbers!

I also got a text message stating that I won an apple ipod or bundle.  Then I put it in google and this site came up.
