why are they calling me in BC ??  Didn't answer.

I have been receiving calls from this number for at least 1 or 2 years.  No one is ever there.  I just found that the area code 647 is registered in South Central Ontario (416).  Now I learn it's BELL!!!
I had a new unlisted number activated today at 11:30AM to be exact - within 20 minutes this number has called again and hung up.  Twenty Minutes later it tried again.  WELL it all makes sense now!  COGECO here I come! Bye, Bye Bell!

I just recieved a phone call from (647) 724-8790 and was informed I could have a free cell phone. Knowing nothing is free I hung up. February 23/10 Surrey BC. Also our phone number is on the do not call list, so why were we called.

(647) 724-8790 calls, doesn't say anything and then hangs up.  Been doing this everyday for about a week. April 2010

I received a call from Bell offering me a wonderful deal on satellite tv (60 channels, 15 HGTV, 8 movie channels no fees) for $29. He asked for my account information which I lied and said I did not have. He then transferred me to his manager to further assist me. This manager tried very persistently to get my account information off my cheque. I said I did not have one. He then asked if I had a card, like a Walmart prepaid card or credit card. I said no. He asked what bank I dealt with so he could match it to the information the Government gave him. Apparently the Government gave him my name and address and he needs my account number to verify and activate my account. I refused to give him this information. He asked me when I could give him my account information. At this point I hung up.I will phone back and cancel my apparent appointment booked with them. When I called Bell in my City they did not have a record of an appointment.

They called here - not the first time, as I've seen this number on the phone a million times but I'm always to work.  Today, they caught me at home.  After a three second pause, someone with a very thick Arabic accent came on and asked if I was Mrs. Kitt.  LOL, first mistake, mispronounce the name.  (four letters and only one syllable, how freakin' hard is it?!?)  So I replied "That depends, who are you?  Are you a telemarketer?"  I think I caught him off-guard, probably not used to people being openy rude to him.  I'm NEVER rude on the phone (years of customer service training) but I'd just gotten of the phone with my son's principal.  Wanted to lash out at someone and he called at the right time.  After he got his nerve back and tried again, "Oh no ma'am" I was already po'd and said "too bad. g'bye' and hung up.  Immediately after, I had a panic attack because I'd just applied for a job that I really want, and ran in to check the number on the internet.  Whew!

So glad it was a scammer, and not the head of OS looking for a new assistant... ROFLMBO
