I had just received a text message from this Michelle using (647) 712-4114. I almost replied because I personally know 5 people named Michelle. But none of them have this type of phone number. The message was "Hey, its Michelle, remember me? I think I just saw your profile online, is that you, is that really you? fprofile2.com/y/1132akje" -- Any Michelle that I know would not have sent a url after the message, or this type of message for that matter. Also, I tried googling the url and there are no results. Doing an area code search, I found out that the 647 is Toronto, Canada.

It's a BOT connected with a Facebook and Myspace profile to verify your phone number, DON'T ANSWER IT!!! I just got it to when I requested to become a friend with someone on Myspace...It has nothing to do with an old friend or either company.

I too, received a text from this girl Michelle, saying she had seen my profile, the only profile I have is on FB, she then asked "Is this you Lisa, is this really you," I stupidly, replied back saying "I had no idea who she is and sorry I have no profiles out there and I think she had the wrong person".
I searched the link and it was some dating sight that wanted to enroll me in, to even check if I was already on their sight, I had to give them information that I wasn't comfortable with. I instinctively knew this must be a scam, What I want to know is what these people think they are going to get, To prey on unexpected people by getting their information is a horrific way in which to use the technology we have to cross gaps to communicate with one another.
Sadly, you can't trust people on Facebook or any other sight, because there are bored, sadly pathetic people who create fake people who don't really exists, using others pics to make them look a certain way, luring in un-expecting people who just want to meet someome nice and get to know a person. It's a shame that people have to screw up that which could be used for only positive, then there alway's seems to be those sick few, sad predators out there that have fun playing with people.
Be very careful people, cause I am one of those trusting people who has been scammed out of $1300.00 for doing a Mystery Shopper scam. You think getting a text from someone, that they may somehow know you, How else did they get your cell number? These people, like I said are predators, predators use any and all means possible to try to catch people in the traps they set and gain their trust of those that they prey upon. So, my best advice is to check everything out and if it seems to good, as the old adage goes, it usually isn't real. Be smart and try not to get sucked into these traps, that are set for people who aren't being mindful.

TO EVERYONE-this is a scam. The way it works is that the scammer rigs his website with malware, then uses a computer program called an SMS blaster to reach millions of cellphones at once without dialing a single number. He enters his message which is especially written to arouse curiosity with a link to his website onto the screen and hits Send. All the victim has to do is reply to the message, and their phone gets hijacked or their information stolen. Another thing the scammer does is trick the victim into replying, which programs their phone to accept the charges, so he can play premium-rate computer games at their expense. The code looks similar to the one in the ?Michelle? message, so if you replied, check your phone bill to see if you were charged.
