Not sure who it is...had the same call 10 minutes ago and didn't know if it was my phone which dropped the call. Now I'm even more skeptical than I was when the call first came in.

can we stop these idiots?  because my brother is getting a call on his cell phone for me.. which baffles me because i've never shared his phone number with anyone.. so i have no idea how they got the info.  the only thing I can think of, if we all have it in common is smart phones.  if you've ever used google where you upload your info from your phone then that might be how they got the info.  if so, google is in trouble.

I just got a call from these people too, from (647) 693-9465. This girl told me my wife registered for some Disney trip and we won and described a trip saying it would normally cost $3000 but we just needed to pay $280-something each. When I said I wasn't gonna be spending any money before talking to my wife so I'd like to get a number to call them back she said they don't have incoming numbers and it was fine if we didn't want to pay cause they'd just write it off as advertising. Then she said she would transfer me to some other dept to confirm my vacation and put me on hold. A minute later a woman came on the line who sounded exactly like the first one and even made the same kind of corny jokes followed by the same fake little laugh. This one told me I needed to spend the $280-something per person so I should just go ahead and read her my credit card number. When I told her I wouldn't she started reading some script about how dependable her company was (also identified as RCI) and that my credit card company would protect me and finished with 'now just read me your credit card number starting with the number 5'. Every time I would object she'd read a different but similar script and talk over me and finish with the same 'now just read me your credit card number starting with the number 5'. After about the 5th time I hung up. If this is legit, which I highly doubt, they need to learn a lot about dealing with people who are questioning their legitimacy. In reality, I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than just a time-share scam but possibly an identity theft scam. Hard to say, but I got bad feeling from "them" ... especially since "them" seemed to actually just be her ... one person playing two roles.

I also just got that call. This girl went on and on about this fabulous vacation I had won. She identified the company as RCI. I told her it was a timeshare condo selling scam but she said it wasn't. She said all I had to do is stop by their office and say hello while I was in Florida.  When she asked me to hold the line for someone else to come on and give me my confirmation number - I hung up. They called back twice - I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. The calls have stopped for now. I think they'll try to move on to someone else and I do think it's a time share condo selling scam.
