I received a call offering me lower interest rates on my visa. The person knew way too many details about me...    Funny thing is I don't have any credit cards. He gave me a name, probably phony. Name of company was Credit Card Consumer Advocate. The phone number to call back was 1-+1 888-516-2459....although my call display showed 1-(647) 288-1289.
Good news though ....apparently my payment history is in good standing otherwise they wouldn't be calling. LOL!!!

My mom got called this morning. Credit Card Companies don't call you to lower your interest rate, thank you Opera and any other talk show that talked about finances. My mom had her credit card to look for the customer service number and it was incorrect so my mom said she doesn't want to do this over the phone and her credit unions will do it for her when she's in person. What buggers using that number in Ontario. Hence why I never pick up numbers out of province.

These people are really ramping up there game.  I recieve at least 2 telephone calls a day, from this number or there 877 number.  Nothing you can about them because they are calling on behalf of one of your existing suppliers. ie Mastercard, Sears, Visa, etc. I have tried to reason with them, threaten them, called the authorities, even went so far as to threaten my Credit Card and Bank with termination. No amount of pressure can stop these people.  They are located at hugh call center in India and do not respect international law as such.  Even changing you phone number won't stop them, everytime your credit report is updated by one of your lenders, they have your new number. Talking with your telco carrier doesn't work, as they use international telco lines and are VOIP so they are almost unstoppable. If you do find a way, other than going without any type of telephone/Cell please post here so we can benefit.
