My mom got called this morning. Credit Card Companies don't call you to lower your interest rate, thank you Opera and any other talk show that talked about finances. My mom had her credit card to look for the customer service number and it was incorrect so my mom said she doesn't want to do this over the phone and her credit unions will do it for her when she's in person.
What buggers using that number in Ontario. Hence why I never pick up numbers out of province.

Received a call but didn't answer. When I call them back its always busy.

I am located in Calgary and I received a call on Feb. 5, 2011 from (647) 288-1289. The male caller didnot introduce himself to me, i.e. his name or which company he was working for. I asked him multiple times to tell me who he was and where he was calling from. He was calling to request that I "confirm" my credit card information with him. I told him to remove me from this call list and he hung up on me. I reported the call: https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng.

Sounds like they were speaking Indian - and you can hear allot of people talking in the background - though I don't understand them - another language - sounds Indian.
Sounds like allot of other telemarkters in the background.

Their number is always on my call display and today I was able to answer...the guy said he was calling about my MC (which I don't even have) so, I played along.....then he went into all the intrest rate details etc. and then he asked if I still lived at the same address (which he rambled off) That's when I said"I know you guys are a scam" he said no,we're not.I said Oh,yes you are and you better not call me again...and I'm reporting you and I hung up! Are they just looking people up in the phone book or what?

Got the same canned recorded message. ?Waited for a 'representative'.  When the individual finally came on the line, speaking very poor English, I asked who it was (I didn't get who it was) . . . they hung up!!!  I am blocking all aforementioned numbers from our phone.
