I agree it might be a fax...why...because i've said hello two days in a row and...there was no one there. Then today I let it go to machine...no message...but the weird thing is...no fax machine sounds...just dead air.

Just got the same experience as others.  Received a call on my cell at 7:30 a.m., March 8, 2010 from (613) 737-8898  but no message.

I got a call at 5:59 this morning. (I was asleep) A man with a middle Eastern accent said hello and started breathing heavy after I said hello. I hung up after a few seconds.I tried calling back and it says "this number is equipped for outgoing calls only."Someone reported this is the MRI departmemt. Nobody in our family is waiting for one. Not impressed because of the hour of this call.

It's The Ottawa Hospital outgoing telephone line (it can be from any campus: General, Riverside, or Civic). It is not specific to MRI's - it can also be for an Ultrasound, or some other kind of general appointment at The Ottawa Hospital.They will usually leave you a message. For me, it was simply a reminder of an upcoming appointment.

The number IS General Hospital; my son just called me from there on another O.G. number and said that the missed call from (613) 737-8898 was the hospital trying to let me know he was there. As Ace said in an ealier post, they use the outgoing calls line only for a variety of calls.
