An earlier post talks about the Conservative Party of Canada using a third party to fund raise.  I think it would be just great if all of us sent Mr. Harper a letter (you do not need a stamp) and tell him on no uncertain terms that if the CPOC uses a telemarketer who will NOT display his company's name (call display show the name the same as all the digits in the number), AND you are already a CPOC supporter you will no longer support the party.  Even if you are not a supporter give him a blast!

And of course, if your MP is a Conservative, let him or her have it with both barrels!!

Well isn't that something-! I decided on a whim to Google this number and what do you know! I'm not alone.
I was not home the two or three times they've called so far, but the second time there was one "hello?" on the answering machine — it sounded like an Asian girl — and the third time, which was today, a man left an interesting 5-second message in some kind of Chinese (sounded a bit like Cantonese).
Kinda funny, actually, wish I could play it for you here, it's almost as if he's saying "oh, I guess you're not home, I'll call you later".
But we're in Canada??? So... what the heck???

ok so like everyone else this number (613) 667-9148 has been calling me. So I too called it and got the recording it is the Conservative Party of Canada. To those who post it is the other parties trying to make Canadians mad I don't buy it. as if it's not the CP it would be easy for whomever does have that assigned number to be tracked and thusly charged. I called the C.R.T.C. and this is what I found out.The Do Not Call List in Canada does NOT apply to Politicians, News Papers and Charities. There is an old law that is suppose to govern those exempt (those mentioned above) from the standard Telemarketing rules it's called Unsolicited Telecommunication Rules. However apparently it is the telephone companies that are tasked with inforcing it and the guy at the C.R.T.C. says the phone companies can't be bothered because of expense. Now I suspect that was back in the day when there was no competition it might be different now if we all contact our various phone providers. Lets band together and be proactive in making those responsible of inforcement do their job. I also contacted the Conservative Party MP and the other party MP's in my riding. Make them earn their money too. If it is NOT the Conservatives they certainly will act if it is the Conservatives then the other parties will act. So move from complaining to being proactive. If they hear from only one they will likely do nothing if they hear from many they have no choice but to act after all we are their bosses and we can vote them out. Find your Conservative MP on Twitter or other social media and let them know your not happy. Oh we have so many resources now adays.

These morons are blanketing Alberta with calls now - imagine that - Cons asking Albertans about something? Nope, just dead air, like all politicians, once elected...Long live the memories of (the early) Ralph and Bill Clinton - too stupid to do any real damage. They are missed.Now we got Mini-Hitler-Harper and "3rd horse in a 3 horse race" ED Stumble-mach. Like I said DEAD AIR.

They do have to obey the law;  if you answer and tell them to take you off their list, they have to do so within 30 days.

The only "favouritism" they have is they are allowed to use your number from the do not call list to call you, but if they continue to call after 30 days of being told to remove you from their calling list, you can report them to the CRTC and they can be fined.
