Do what I did... tell them to hang on,  you just have to get something finished and will be right back, set the phone down and DONT come back to hang it up till you hear a fast busy. It took me only twice using this trick and they never called again... tee hee hee

I got a call from them on Friday.  Whocallsme was down Saturday morning ...Caller identified himself as as "Support Services" exclusively into Conservative Party of Canada market research and fund raising.  When asked, 10% of a donation would go to my local riding association, the remaining 90% to brochures, advertising, lawn signs, "that sort of thing".When asked to mail out a pledge card, he declined unless I were to pledge $25.00.  Unfortunately I did not let the call go forward to see if I would be asked for a credit card number.I sent an e-mail to my MP asking whether or not these guys are legit.  I will post any reply.

An earlier post talks about the Conservative Party of Canada using a third party to fund raise.  I think it would be just great if all of us sent Mr. Harper a letter (you do not need a stamp) and tell him on no uncertain terms that if the CPOC uses a telemarketer who will NOT display his company's name (call display show the name the same as all the digits in the number), AND you are already a CPOC supporter you will no longer support the party.  Even if you are not a supporter give him a blast!

And of course, if your MP is a Conservative, let him or her have it with both barrels!!

I answered the call, and female voice asked for "Ken".

I said "thank you for calling our online phone-sex service; we charge $5.99 per minute.
So that we can continue, I need your credit-card number.  Do you have VISA or MASTERCARD?"

That stunned her into silence, for about a minute, before she quietly hung-up.

Since I'm a Shaw Telephone customer, I have used (star)(six)(zero) to BLOCK all future calls from this telephone-number.  This is a _FREE_ service from Shaw (and, I'm told, from Telus).

Just got a call from (613) 667-9148 and it was dead air.  I am on the do not call list....but this still got through.  Annoying.
