You are getting these and probably a lot of other unwanted calls because the DNC doesn't work. The list has been sold and bought by cos that are scammers as well as telemarketers. When the gov't decided to make this legislation they didn't think of who would be able to buy these lists. Remove your name and number now if you can so that any future owner doesn't have yours. This is true for the US as well as Canada

I actually got a call from these folks at my work number. This should be illegal. I am reporting them to Phonebusters as well.

these guys called five times in the last week AT WORK. Left two message AT WORK. They call my cell on a regular!!

I've gotten this call several times from a seemingly Ottawa area phone number (and not seemingly long distance).I don't suggest anyone use the "invitation" to dial #9. You might enable access to your phone line for long distance scammers. So If you have dialed 9, you might want to check with your service provider for unauthorized charges.Don't take me as an expert but I take the rumours seriously enough to avoid the risk.
