they keep calling - cant we get them on the spam registry or something

Same here ..this is getting annoying

The calls are coming from a telemarketing firm XENTEL.  They are responsible for the majority of the calls we get from charities and non-profit organizations.  They have a website where you can put your number on their do not call list and then follow up with registration on the CRTC do not call list.The groups they fundraise for receive little more than 10% of monies collected.If we stick together and boycott all charitable organizations that pay these fundraising costs, perhaps it will stop.
