This number belongs to Ottawa This Week, a community newspaper that's apparently going to be launched in Ottawa in the near future. They're looking for people to deliver their papers.I reported these people to the National Do Not Call List complaints line, who confirmed that the call isn't exempt even though they're a newspaper because they're not soliciting subscriptions. Soliciting jobs as paperboys. This is not in accordance to the Do Not Call List's rules, which states that a newspaper may call you to solicit subscriptions and nothing less.

I called the twit back and he claimed he was not soliciting. Yes, he was. He was not soliciting for newspaper subscriptions, but for delivery people. I filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call List, although that's pretty much useless since there's been hundreds of thousands of complaints about solicitors logged, almost no fines, and what was fined, most is uncollected. The impotent Canadian government at its finest.
