These calls seem to originate and be directed to the Vancouver BC area. I don't think it's a telemarketer or scammer. You say hello several times and get no response, though the line is definitely open. I think the caller is some kind of weirdo or maybe a thief checking to see if anybody is home.

I don't think this is a telemarketer.  Way too weird. People report an experience similar to mine.  They say 'hello' several times but there is no response.  This is a local Vancouver area caller and the number doesn't appear on other "who calls" international websites.   I think this might be a local crook checking to see if anybody is home. Please BLOCK THIS NUMBER and be careful!
