We are in Iowa.  Never leaves message but has called multiple times.

When ever I pick phone no one on the other side of line after a while line drops.
I called back won't accept calls.

We used get bombarded with calls from telemarketers before we put ourselves on the "Do Not Call List" (I highly recommend you do this!) and because we have the old phone number that an antique/pawn shop used to have. We would seriously get about 40 calls a day!
So I took it upon myself to make our greeting message on our answering machine say "This is a residence not a business and we are not interested in anything you are selling. And we do not buy or sell any antiques, so please for the love of God, STOP CALLING! Have a nice day" These people called and some snotty lady left a message saying "ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!" Haha. I don't think they will be calling here again!
