UBC looking for money. Telling you how much they think is a suitable donation. Had to hang up because declining to donate just lead to a debate. Very annoying.

They keep calling. Must be donation. No message at all. Annoying

I know a friend who used to work as a ubc fundraiser caller, telling them you don't want to be called isn't enough. You have to say you want to be put on the no call list and not to be contacted for any "charity opportunities". They are legit though they are not trying to scam you. Some of the things they fund raise for are pretty important like funding bursaries and scholarships.

Ooooh I wonder if I can donate money to just be used for their animal testing labs?

I also have been getting a lot of calls from this number in the past couple weeks. It says Private. There is never any message left. It would make sense that it is the UBC fundraiser as my wife is an alumni and they are horribly insistent (they give us credit card offers!) I Googles this number because it seemed familiar and I thought it might be someone I know but I guess it is just this dumb UBC telemarketing call... I swear, that university is more of a property and money raising institution than a school these days.

they just called me now, and it's 9pm... i didn't pick up and just googled the number, which brought me here to this website. I immediately dialed *60, and added them to my call block list. I'm on Shaw, and I think the call blocking feature is great...

Keep getting phone calls from (604) 827-4173 they don't leave a message. It is really annoying, I am very sad if it is UBC. ?My family has paid 10 of 1000 to attend for various degrees in return I get hang up phone calls. Ugh.,..

the best option is to answer, decline, and then explicitly ask them to remove you from their calling list. the list may be regenerated after a while but that should by you time. good luck.
