I got about three calls in the last week or so.  The first one I answered and the lady on the other end said they were conducting some kind of bank survey.  I told them I was in a rush and did not have time to answer their questions and hang up.  Two more calls came after that but, having seen the number on my caller ID I decided not to answer the call.

Got call tonight at 8:54 pm, no one there and just hung up.

missed this call when i was on my cell talking to someone...was about to call this # back, but then googled it & found this....glad i didn't try calling the #. will know next time.

No response, just hung up.

How did they get your number?  Well the government started the do not call list but then after the laws were removed to stop phone scamming on cell phones the DNC list was removed and the list was sold to companies, these companies use your number for marketing and then sell your number off to another to regain their money.  Best course of action if you can get someone is ask who they are as a company and if you can get their name, then ask them the date and time, the fact that they say it in their own words means you have legal right to sue for harassment if they continue to call, you will instantly be removed from their list is you ask this and because most companies say they cant hang up on you period you can abuse them all you want.Happy Hunting!

i got one this am and it was someone speaking in mandarin, who can't even speak english.

but from what is posted here, it sounds like it could be someone (or many different people) using a SKYPE.

now, it could be someone (or many different people) trying to mask their identity, knowing you can't really trace them easily.

first, they will pretend to be some marketing or promotional company.
they get you identity, etc etc.

and then in future, they got your personal info, and they will have someone called again to scam you.

don't give out any personal information or even bother talking to these people.
