Called today at 11:-00 AM 3-Feb-13, no answer back but could hear breathing like someone overweight and struggling a bit. Scam of some kind -probably pissed because I always say no to robo calls and polls - just way too many these days and too many scams.

I've been having calls from this number as of September 2012. Not impressed.

Called the number back within 5 minutes and received an answering machine claiming that the number is no longer in service. What bull****. Don't pick up. SCAMMERS. 07Sept2012 @ 7PM.

The caller asks me to press 1 for agreeing to his question or 2  vice versa. I just hang up.

You are correct. If you call them, it is a message. They will ask if you wish to remove your phone number. You just have to enter you number at that time and (hopefully) will receive no more fundraising calls.

I have got calls from this number often in recent weeks.  I usually don't answer it.  However, today I did, and a man was asking for me.  I replied that the person wasn't home and if there were any messahes I could take.  The man said it was fine, he would call later.

Have also had this number call frequently - found this other site: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-(604) 248-5257   that shows the same phone number/problem  as on here - note the very last posting by "Cherry" on May 30 2010 where they finally got annoyed and answered it and says it was the SPCA....Anybody donate to SPCA? They are apparently attempting to contact their contributors by phone to save postage - um...maybe try email SPCA folks??

Happen to me today..the story is the same as described by OlIl above:-

had same thing happen...called # back & recording from a polling company came on with option to be taken off calling list, which I did right away...will take 48 hrs...hopefully works!!

So let me also see whether this works or not/

They have called MANY times I never answer as I am on a minutes plan with my cell phone but they never leave a message. If it is the SPCA I am not impressed with there being no message left. But would make sense as I have done a charity run for them in the past.
