Received a check for $2800 to be "mystery shopper" for Magna Research Group, with stipulations and instructions on how to spend the $$$. Looked up address but it is a P.O. Box from Houston, TX. Looked up the phone number and it is from Motreal Quebec Canada. The check is in the garbage torn into TINY LITTLE PIECES.

Received a letter supposedly from Chrysler Financial Services. Said I won 17 thousand dollars in a sweepstakes drawing and included a check for $497.35 to cover "withholding taxes". First called Chrysler Financial to verify this was a scam. Then called number given on letter to claim my prize and asked the woman who answered who they were really because CHrysler Corporate had certainly never heard fo them. She hung up, of course.
