Same thing LITERALLY just happened to my boyfriend's family. His grandfather received a call by a man whose name was Richard Stein, an attorney, about his grandson ( my bfs younger brother) being in Saratoga County (NY) jail and he needed to wire $4800 to pay for damages to a car he supposedly crashed. Here's where it gets weird- the call they received was by a different number, but did a whitepages.com phone reverse and the call was made from a Montreal landline number, as was the number provided in the original post (did a whitepages.com phone reverse for this one too) Thankfully my boyfriends grandfather knew the story was fishy and did not wire the money. This a**hole needs to be caught!
