I just received a phone call from an employee  at Meritus. She recommended OSAP and offered to help me through the application process. I went to the OSAP website and on it they have a search tool to search for accredited schools and Meritus was on there.

I actually agree with you. I am currently enrolled at Meritus and I also take classes from both U of T and Ryerson. My grades at all three institutions are 4.0's but I work much harder at Meritus. With Meritus I have to post 2 discussion questions a day for 4 days as well as write two initial discussions per week and complete a demanding weekly essay. By contrast, I write about on average 1 assignment during my scheduled course, 1 mid-term and one exam per class I take at other schools. Studying for an exam is difficult but when I assess the knowledge I have gained from all institutions I can say that I forget a lot of the knowledge I have gained by studying for an exam (and yes this is even after getting above 90%) then when I relate the knowledge I have learned in a weekly assignment. Either way, there are pro's and con's to each learning environment. I decided to get my Bachelor's from Meritus U, and some certificate programs from U of T and Ryerson. This way I can show employers that I have the diversity and discipline to finish a degree, and if they are worried about the online format I can demonstrate I also have some in class experience at highly recognized Universities. I also plan of getting my MBA from Ryerson to make sure it's all balanced out. In my opinion, having experienced both types of schools, I can say that an accredited online University is just as worthy as a traditional University, both many many people are afraid of change and have a hard time accepting this fact, so I am covering this my back until people get over their unfounded and unstudied stereotypes. Until then I hope I can do whatever I can to help educate people on the merit of accredited online education.

You guys, it is a legit. university. You can earn an degree by studying online (Bachelors or Masters degree). 'meritusu.ca'If you don't want calls to your residence or cell phone stop filling out ridiculous surveys on the net to win stuff (leaving your contact info.). Whoever is doing the marketing for this institution obviously has access to this info. somehow.
