I am in BC. This number called both my cell and home number.

Has now called me 3 times in 1 hour..says I have won travel dollars, I hang up each time.

It's the travel dollars scam again.  They ignore the do not call list (illegal).  They call cell phones, pagers, emergency lines etc. (illegal).  They dial at random (illegal).  They want you to provide a credit card in order to collect your "prize" (illegal).  They are a criminal organization, they have been reported to local phone companies and the CRTC numerous times by numerous people, and NOTHING is being done about it, to the collective shame of the Canadian telecom industry.  Telus, Bell, MTS, Aliant - as long as you ignore complaints about this scam, YOU ARE PART OF IT.

I assure that if we, as a telecommunications company, could block these calls from going to your phone we would. However, the fact of the matter is we cannot as cell phone provider. As calls can only be blocked with landline services. The amount of revenue lost when a client calls in to complain about this issue is greater than 30¢ a call. In fact, it costs the company approximately $10 just to receive the clients calls. As the call goes through the queue, which costs money to maintain, and the cost to pay the salary of the representative to assist you, etc.

As an employee and a client of Bell Mobility I agree with all of you. I wish we could stop these scammers from contacting us. I get these calls too! And my number is an internal number, and has never been published. No one should be able to contact me without giving my number out. One day it will come to an end...
