Sam

For the 4 weeks before the provincial election I got no "telemarketer" or "scammer" call me. But right after the provincial election over, calls start to came in again. All those 4 weeks I only got political robo calls form 2 major parties. At first, I just block them right after I pick up the first call. But strange things happen, they begin to switch phone number to call me. Using the same method as the "telemarketer" or "scammer". In curiosity, I look up all those political robo call numbers. The numbers that the "PC party" use were previous calling people for debit consolidation just a month ago before I got the call. The robo call numbers use by "Liberal party" were calling people for air duct cleaning and Bahama Cruise before.  From those numbers, people at the forum say those call center were in India or Pakistan. I always feel skeptical about this theory, cause they never call me on Labour day, Easter weekend or Victoria Day. Are all these days also a statutory holiday In India and Pakistan too? (for anyone who don't know what Easter is for, it's not for celebrate bunnies laid chocolate eggs. For Victoria Day, it's not celebrate Victoria Secret invented sexy lingerie or celebrate Victoria Beckham(A.K.A. Posh spice)'s birthday.)  Furthermore, I think there is a regulation say no outside of the country help/assistance for the provincial election. So that make those call centers are located within Canada not oversea.  My number is NOT on DNCL and it's a unlisted number, the only organization that I could think of knowing my full name, address and phone number is Revenue Canada and Election Canada, and I did give authorization to Revenue Canada to forward my info to Election Canada. But I think I will not do that next year when I file my income tax return. I did contact both candidate asking them to tell me who they hire for the robo calls. One candidate say he did not hired anyone to call me(what a liar, you think another party will hire someone to promo their rival for free). The other candidate say he can not tell me, instead what he can do for me is to ask the call center to remove my number permanently from their data bank. I got a lot less calls these days. Only 2 to 3 calls per week instead of everyday.Maybe that's why CRTC never can get rid of the call center.
