Five or six times a year i get this and Scotia has the same answer all the time, " because they have nothing to do with us there is nothing we can do to make them stop".Well I'd like to know how this outside company has my new unlisted number, when I have only changed it with a few companies so far....Scotiabank has it. They are liars.

Got a call from them. I was not home but they called earlier this week wanting to know if I was at my bank on Tuesday. I was not because I work all day. They hung up. I get these calls from time to time. What I do is keep them on the phone for as long as I can (it's their dime). I just continue to say no. When they ask why not, I ask if they would trust someone who calls day after day, can't pronounce my name right and do not seem to understand the word "no"? I have no problem with people trying to make an honest living but "no means no". Another thing I like to do is answer and, if there is a long pause, I wait for the guy from India to ask for someone who does not even resemble my name. I do not say a word, just keep breathing normally into the phone. Want to waste my time, I can waste yours. We kept a travelling salesman at our home leading him along for 6 hours because he lied to get into our house. When he left, it was after dark and he could not go door to door here. My feeling is, if I want it, I will get it.

This number called around 9am this morning and did not reply when I answered the phone. I saw by the caller ID it was probably a telemarketer, I answered hoping to speak to a human being and educate them on telemarketing law and in no uncertain terms tell them, not to call again. But, no human operator, no pre-recorded message ... nothing.
I work nights and I don't appreciate early calls from anyone, much less telemarketers.
I've received calls before from numbers registered to Optoma Communications and I'm sick of it.
Unfortunately, it gets complicated when the telemarketer is call from outside your country. Canada and the US should have a reciprocal agreement. They should not allow telemarketers to call on either side of the border. Either merge lists or allow consumers to sign up online for the Do Not Call list from across the border.
