As far as I am concerned, this seems to be a legitimate number.BBM Canada called me and asked me to keep track of radio stations that I listen to for a week.  I agreed and they sent me a booklet and $2 and phoned me 2X to remind me to fill out the booklet.I had prviously agreed to take part in the radio survey, so I am not ticked off with their calls.

Spoke to a cop at the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre. They're more interested in actual fraud (e.g., when someone loses $) than in spoofing. Apparently, it's easy to mask one's phone number with a fake number that shows up on caller ID or via *69.

And yet, it's fishy that the calling number (416) 861-0870) shows up on the Internet connected to various companies, one of them a "communications and media broadcasting" company that does telemarketing (as the gentleman at Infolink admitted).

Please call the number below (as previously provided by "Telemarkethater"), press option 4 to reach the call centre supervisor, and give them your phone #. Call every time they call you; I called this morning to have my number removed and received another call this afternoon. If enough people complain, maybe they will get the hint. I am getting a fax call from (416) 861-0870. It is a collection agency.  They also use following numbers -

Bell are arseh***s for letting these companies get away with it.  Cannot wait for the new legislation to come in September 2008 so we can put our business # for the 'do-not-call list.  At least my tax dollars are working!  If you still continue getting these calls after September 2008, contact the CRTC - google it.

Someone (female) called me from this number today, speaking in some foreign language. When I asked who she wanted to speak to, she said she was looking for Judy and was very puzzled to find out this was the "wrong number" and there's no Judy here.
