Unidentified fax #

been receiving calls from this number hundreds of times. doesn,t sound like a fax machine, just a beep-beep-beep, like a computer is trying to access my computer. this is the first time a phone number actually appeared on our call display-would like them to stop doing this immediately. you'd think if this was a fax machine, they'd figure out they had a LOT of wrong numbers when none of their faxes went through. I personally thing its trying to fish our computer systems. fortunately, we shut our down when its not in use. you may want to do the same just for added protection.

Looking for a device that blocks Fax signals.  I spoke to the spy store here, and they said there are several fax signals now.  Not one device will kill faxes, but there is a device that will block all calls unless you put in a pass number.  I figure this would only serve a person who only has friends/relatives calling that line.  No outside calls without pass number will get thru.Also, had one spam fax call ring thru my phone at 3am on a Sunday.  My phone has a 'Night Mode' where it won't ring, but I know that police and emergency can turn it on with their 'special ringer'.  Well, that's exactly what this spam fax did.  it made my phone ring - Even though I have a night mode.  So I turned the ringer completely off upstairs.  That's the only thing that works.NIce huh?  They get the technology before we can.

Removing your number from the list is really a 'confirmation' that your number exists.  There is no motivation for the sender to stop.  This isn't new spam, but it is persistent.  Called my telephone company a year ago about the annoyance.  I still get calls.  Hopefully, this fall, when the new "do not call" database is in place for the nation, junk like this will stop.

To the Telus employee:  IT DOESN'T WORK.  Trust me.  I have spoken with a (rude) person about having this number removed.  The number stopped calling me for a month or so, and started again.  This time I attempted the 00000 bit and it acknowledged that it would remove me.  That was two weeks ago.  Just got woken up by them AGAIN!Sorry to say, Telus refuses to help me in this matter other than to offer some other blocking service which limits you to 12 numbers to block (I've pretty much had to use them all, already, for similar fax schemes).Next step is to research a legal avenue.
