Guy by name of John - selling duct cleaning services - repeated calls even though1 - on do not call list2 - repeated requests to not be calledSo I called the do not call people, filed another complaint about the telemarketer plus called 1-+1 877-249-2782 and complained about the CRTC's inability to do anything. The investigator is supposed to be calling me back this week. Wonder what would happen if a lot of people did the second step of complaining about lack of performance,I then plan to complain at Industry Canada who are supposed to oversee the CRTC. The number provider is IRISTEL (416) 800-4747 but they have to get an official request from the CRTC to release information. I wonder if it might be too much trouble to go on providing service if a lot of people called complaining.

I even blocked the number and then they have called under long distance and private caller. When you tell them to take your name off the list because your home is new and had the ducts cleaned they just ignore you.

Air duct cleaning service. I asked them for the company name and they said Air Duct Cleaning Service Limited. How original. They said they are in Toronto. Once I started questioning them on their address and phone number he got very defensive asking why I want to know.?????????????? Really? I would like to know who the hell will be coming to my house. Then he hung up on me. When I tried calling the number, it is a busy signal.

This number has been calling me just about every 2-3 days for the last 2 months, I'm getting very angry. I've tried the nice approach, I've gotten mad at them, threatened them, and if we don't answer, they leave a 5 minute message saying " Hello, hello ? .. Hello ? .." . I'm about to lose my s*** on them !

The kind of call-blocker I use is Google Voice. If someone calls me but their number doesn't show up on caller ID, I just write down the time of the call, open GV like I would my gmail account, and check my inbox. The number will show up as an email, then I add it to my scammer list (all under one contact name-I chose "Ignore" but you can call it what you want) and I never hear from them again. SMS messages show up the same way-I click on the message, and a window appears with a space where I can enter the number and block it. GV is only available to US residents, and requires a PC to set up. It uses a cellphone connection when being set up, and from what I've read you can even add your landline and work number so scammers can't call you there either. Blocked callers receive the three-toned message that your number is no longer in service. The tones cause the robodialer to reject it from the scammer's database, so they no longer call you. Setup instructions and videos are available on Google for the kind of cellphone you use, for example "Google Voice setup instructions for MyTouch 4G". Hope that helped.
