WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS SHOP. Let me tell you about an experience I had with Goldie, the owner of the car shop at 843 Gerrard St E. I was buying a car and his shop was nearby. I needed a mechanic to run basic diagnostics on the car. It was the last day before the seller's licence plates and insurance were no longer valid. I travelled to Goldie's shop at 9am, the seller and I left the car at the shop. I asked him how much he wanted for the job. I didn't limit him in any way. I would have accepted $200-300 if he asked for it. But he said he wanted to build a good relationship with me as a potential long term client and was willing to do this for 60 dollars. Later that day we spoke on the phone and he was very nice, said he found a couple of problems with the car and wanted to talk in person and that he will be open until 10pm. I came over right after work around 7pm. He told me that he is busy and that he has people waiting for cars. I was shocked but extremely polite and said that all I needed was 5 minutes. Instead he freaked out and said he doesn't want to deal with this and will just give me back my 60 dollars. Considering that I paid the seller to bring the car to the shop and considering that I wasted time going to the shop twice on that day a 60 dollar refund and didn't seem like a fair deal. I even offered him more money in exchange for the results of the inspection that he supposedly did and which I needed, but he said he wasn't interested. He also promised to call back and explain why he returned the money but he never did. So to sum up, this man seems nice when you call him, he seems great when you deal with him. But he has no moral integrity what so ever. It is crazy how bad he treats his clients. If this is how he treated me when he realized there is no way to milk me, or because there was a more wealthy client to milk at that moment, imagine what he is willing to do to rip you off?
