This is not a REGISTERED charity with the Canadian government. As such, they are subject to the DNC list.

I have asked dozens of time for them to take me off their call list-it doesn't work. Annoying as hell. They are NOT a non profit org.

Value Village Shopper supporter

Barb..Thanks for the heads up..I had been told that their truck was going to be in my neighbourhood and that my donation was being collected FOR Value Village (diabetes association).. Since diabetes runs in my family I whole heartedly give to this cause... but for them to accept our donations and then SELL it to whom we were told was benefiting 100% is ever soooo wrong...not saying their cause not not a worth while one.. but they should be up front and honest about it..

This is from their own FAQs (they're not a non-profit, and so presumably do not have immunity under the Do No Call List):Who is Recycling Rewards and what do you do?We are a professional Recycling company that operates a reusable item collection business in support of non-profit organizations.Recycling Rewards was incorporated in 2005 in both Ontario and BC.What do you do with the items you collect? We sell the items to a store called Talize. Talize is a thrift department store located in Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Mississauga Ontario. Our sister company also operates in B.C. and supplies Talize located in Delta, B.C.http://www.recyclingrewards.com/recycling_information.php

This is a number for Recycling Matters. They collect used items and sell them to Value Village in support of the Community Living organization. It is a non profit organization helping mentally handicapped people.

Or maybe they really are just exploiting charities' names... http://www.recyclingrewards.com/recycling_rewards.php
