As is often the case, this number appeared in cid, and no one was at the other end.

I get calls every few hours a day and into the evening from this number, but never a message on my voice mail.  I call back and get a voice mail that it is a newspaper call centre.  The calls never stop.

Called at 3:45PM Saturday July 18th 2009, The wife answered and they said they were selling subscriptions to Toronto Star. She told them no. I then verified it was the same company that called me two days earlier with *69 and tried to call their complaints line to get them to stop. The phone was answered, people were talking in the background, then someone pushed numbers on the keypad at least 20 times, I can assume they were trying to get me to hang up. I waited for them to stop, then said "Hello?" Immediately the person on the other end started pressing the keys again, laughing in the background as he did. Then he hung up on me and when I called right back they were afraid to answer their phone, making it go immediately to voice mail. Called the Star, got the runaround and then voice mail. Waited a few minutes (4:17PM to be exact), called back, a woman answered, told her I wanted off the call back list. She asked what the number was, I told her our number, she then said she would take it off. I told her I wanted off the call back list and added to the "do not call" list. She told me that she would take the number and make sure to remove it from their lists by the end of the day. The whole thing was recorded by myself for legal purposes if necessicary. Fingers crossed.

It is from the newspaper call centre at 778 Sheppard Ave Toronto. I have yelled at them to take me off their list but no luck. The telemarketer refused to give me his name as did the supervisor. I asked for the account rep at the Toronto star and they refused to give me that info as well. Odd, because they have my personal info but refuse to give out their company info.

Have been getting calls from this number 2 or 3 times daily for weeks now.  Finally called back and got voicemail which gave another number to call - (416) 630-6658 - called and spoke to a lovely woman who promised that my number would be deleted from the list by 9:30 this evening.
I'll live in hope.
