They don't leave messages. It likely is a boilerhouse operation. The Firedept nor the police do any solicitation. These are groups, maybe union, maybe professional associations, maybe scammers calling hoping to pull some monies. They use a predictive dialer or a mosaix or other company dialer...that is why most of you hear the delay. If they don't use the most up to date and best quality hardware, the software does not hook you up quickly. The delay you hear is their system pulling your information for the person on the phone. No don't work for those companies...just know the systems. Funny thing is they can hear you...and if you want to annoy them put their system down...if you just want to be polite and say no thanks and h/up....if you want to take further ask them to send audit of their actual 'charitable work' before giving any monies...ask for Canada Revenue Agency proof.

everyday calling different time and very anoying

Caller asked if this was the <myname> residence?
I asked who's calling?
He repeated the same question.
I asked who's calling?
He hung up as I then said "if you're selling something please take us off your list"
