F*CK OFF STUPID NUMBER
Posted on November 14, 2012Caller type: Unknown

I am annoyed as hell as this num ber has been calling my phone everyday or every other day. It sorta has a schedule where it sometimes calls me at 10am or 1pm. Once or twice a day. Everytime I pick up - no answer or I called back once - the number is not in service. It originally started with another Alberta number which called me on sorta the same routine for a week and a half then it became this Ontario number for almost 3 weeks now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this number is from Vacations By Newport - a wholly owned subsidiary of Newport Marketing, LLC http://www.newportmarketing.com - you can call their number 1-+1 888-528-1840 and since this is toll free to you - it costs them money when you call them!!!!

CRTC can't stop THESE kinds
I too report numbers to the National Do Not Call List. However, I've just confirmed my suspicions about why, now, most of these number "look" legit, rather than those old 000-000-0000 or 999999999 so other silly formats. It's because now, the idiots have figured out how to push through, ANY number they like to your Caller ID. Yes, ANY number... even YOURS if they get it.And THAT brings me to another issue. Notice how "some" websites that PRETEND to be like this one, to report numbers calling... ask you to enter YOUR phone number so they can help "get it off the lists?"OH NO NO NO!!! This number here, (416) 588-9262 used to be a legit number... in fact, still listed in google. But now it's disconnected... and THAT is why the CRTC can do nothing! When you report that number (or others that are "faked" like that) there's no way to now trace it back to the real source. But I found, what may be a solution. I'm testing it now and thankfully, there's a 30-day free trial for its full version. CallClerk. Written by a guy named Rob and yes, he actually supports his product really well. You do need to have a modem that does support Caller ID and Voice. The one in my laptop, which SUPPOSEDLY does... does not report itself right, so mostly just didn't work. I was able to buy a very inexpensive HiRo H52113 USB modem. After disabling my old one and installing, specifically, version 2298 drivers, it seems to work a charm. What you can configure it to do, is when this (or any other number you choose) is detected, it can play that LINE DISCONNECTED tones through the phone! LOLThis tone tells the telemarketer auto dial systems that the number is not in service. It SHOULD remove them after a while. I'll know more this week.Anyway, it's a start.Oh and for those who have this happening on their cell phones, what I do for now, I when not using the cell, Call Forward to my home number... which then intercepts the numbers and sends the tones!Hope that helps some people.

I was receiving calls from (403) 201-0131 I told them repeatedly to stop calling me. I also reported them to the Do NOt Call Registry. Now they are calling me with (416) 588-9262. I asked them to stop calling. He said. Then why did you answer your phone? I told him off and swore at him but they still call. It's a scam travel company and nothing you can do about it. Unless you can get a return number and post it on craigs list with a free puppy add.

They always call at all hours of the day - no one ever picks it up or leaves a message.
