Got a call from this no but didn't get any msg

This number texted me and they will return my call shortly. I never called that number. Apparently you text people now?

I've been getting calls from this number for a month or two.  I don't answer and they don't leave a message. They usually phone around the dinner hour but once they called after I had gone to bed.  Ever since I got my unlisted number from Rogers last November, I've had calls from various numbers that I don't initially recognize but when I google them, they all appear to be from ScotiaBank.  However, the other day around suppertime, I got a call with no phone number and the caller id V10190538120103.  I think it was probably them too.  Yesterday, I got another call and it just said "Unavailable".Don't these idiots know that when we refuse to answer, it means we will not deal with telemarketers.  I'm a lonely widow living alone and when I get more calls from a telemarketer than anyone else, I feel even lonelier.  I'm thinking of cancelling my land line and just using my cell phone because of these idiots. If I have an emergency and the responders don't know my address and I die because of that,  these telemarketers will be the ones to blame.  Telemarketers are the scum of the earth.I've never had a ScotiaBank account and never will.  I own some shares that I inherited but I'm going to sell them and buy TD shares instead.  The Fifth Estate that aired on Oct. 18, 2013 on the CBC was about ScotiaBank and it made them look bad.Don't suggest that I put my number on the Do Not Call List.  I tried that before and got more telemarketing calls than ever and had to get an unlisted number.

Wow so I googled this number to see who it was or at least from where and then i started reading the comments lol.

I received this call. It is clearly a call from or claiming to be from Scotiabank trying to sell life insurance for a low low fee. First month free, and they send you a package. Second month is activated when you get your package and from then on it is automatic.One more 'opt out' telemarketer. Could be elaborate scam but more likely to be Scotiabank.

Hi, i work at Optima Communications, i just felt like i should let everyone know, that in the privacy agreement that you sign with scotia, they say in black and white, that you are giving them permission to relase your information to third party companies that may be in or outside of canada to offer you new products and or services and to collect information, and that if you have a spouse on that account, or whatever it is that you just signed up for, that you are responsible for making sure your spouse has read and understands the terms and conditions, and that there info as well may be released to third party companies. Optima is not cold calling you, we are contacting exsisting customers from reputible companies like Scotia, AMEX, Sears, CAA Etc.... THEY pay us, to call you, on their behalf. THEY supply us with information, but it isn't sensetive information, for example, on scotia, we see the Year of Birth, your name, and your mailling adress, and this is only to send you the welcome package, and we can only send it to you, if you allow us to. we dont ever see banking information, we dont see anything that could be used for identity theft, and if you really have a huge problem with the calls thinking its a scam, you have 2 options, either say do not call me, put me on the do not call ALL list, that takes you off optima scotia and insurance, or call David Huggins (higgins??) He works for Scotia Life, and he can answer all your questions and complaints.you can easily get his number by asking.

Just got this call and since I didn't reconize the number i didn't answer instead I googled it. Thank you everyone for the info.....
