When I thought about this call and the persistence of the caller I couldn't help but feel sad.  Imagine being an individual who has no family or friends and has to resort to calling strangers in order to hear another person's voice.  Sad indeed.

Please help me to identify this number: 1-(416) 511-8946. Someone called me from this number as a missed call. I know that it is from Toronto but why couldn't I call this number again. The message is: "unfortunately, we can't complete your call as dial. Pls check the number again". I would like to know why like this? Is it a call phone made from public telephone station? Or what are the possibilities?

Wow!!! I thought I'm the only one that I got missed call from this number!!! It happened to me tonight at 1 am!! As soon as I picked up, that was already missed call and I couldn't dial the number at all!!! So strange!

I am surprised that you do not recognize this call as being a call from a psychopathic con artist. These people are crooks. They claim to be able to see errors in your computer, which they will offer to fix for you. When they take control of your computer with your help, they render your computer to an inoperable state, then demand money to fix the problem. Initially,  they will show you some listed errors in your computer, which are always there and should not concern you, in order to convince you that your computer needs repairing. It is obvious why a bunch of crooks would not have a number that you can call back. Computers need maintenance to deal with virus and malware infestations, also, the general use of the computer gathers redundant files, especially in the temporary file section. Try to find a friend who can set up MIcrosoft Security Essentials,  Malwarebytes(excellent cheap anti-malware program, slimware utilities cleaner program, and run these 3 programs regularly to keep your computer in a healthy state.

They have been calling my house for months, every day, without ever leaving a message. So, today I replied, knowing it was a telemarketer. However, as it is a Toronto number, I answered in French and insisted that he speaks French to me, knowing that most people from South Asia do not. He had already asked me if I was the computer user in the house. When he heard me speak French, he yelled: "Ahhhh, f*ch you!"...with a few other words in either Punjabi or Hindi. This number is now blocked from calling us. Peace at last, until they figure another number, which we will block again. C'est la vie!

We get so many phishing calls here, at all hours of the day.  So much for the "Do Not Call List"!  Don't blame you for doing what you did.  And the family of the old lady should've been more in touch with her to realize her memory wasn't good anymore.
