Got a call from (416) 493-7703. Tried to call the number back and got a message "The number you have reached is not in service".  I thought this was a prank call but it looks like I'm not the only one receiving calls from this number.

This call also called me on March 17th at 9:30 pm. Said hello several times, no response.

We've been getting calls every night from this number.  I used to work for a telemarketing company way back.  They use a device called a Predictive Dialer (actually a computer) that dials numbers continuously and listens for the click when you answer.  If you don't answer, your number goes back into the database and it keeps calling.  When you answer and there are not enough salespeople working, you get just dead air.

There's software and hardware out there that 'zaps' the database by playing the "this number is not in service" sound when they call.  We haven't bought it yet!!

I receive this call every few days after 6pm, and today (Saturday) it came in early afternoon.

Thankfully I run my own Trixbox (VoIP PBX phone system) and have simply added it to my blacklist, which never rings my extension and sends back the zapteller to the calling end. :-D

Todat at 6:02 pm, this number showed on my call display.  At 6:32 pm, a second call from a Toronto number was displayed:  1-(416) 640-3489.  When I googled this second number, it has a web site similar to this one.  I think that they are both from the same company.

This number has called me several times, all around 6-630pm.. I have called back and it just tells me not in service.
