SUCCESS! (I hope)

I tried David Wilson's advice (see post from April 15th) and received a response from the company.  I left a telephone message and e-mailed Mr. Nanos.  His written reply was:

"Thank you for your note. I will have your number removed from the list. Please note you have not received a ‘telemarketing’ call. We are a market research firm conducting public opinion survey of Canadians.

Your numbers have been removed.

Calls coming in from this number everyday this week, at 6:25pm. Dead air, then disconnects to busy signal. When I call back, I get a message saying that the line is not in service. NICE!

I can't wait until September 30th, when Bell Canada's DO NOT CALL service is in effect!

Got a call from (416) 493-7703. Tried to call the number back and got a message "The number you have reached is not in service".  I thought this was a prank call but it looks like I'm not the only one receiving calls from this number.

Just got this call tonight @ 6:30 central time. Said hello and there was nothing. Then I could hear my own voice in sort of an echo and then the busy tone. I am on the Do Not Call list to, but I don't think they cover opinion surveys since they are not selling you anything. On the news a couple of weeks ago it reported that the Do Not Call list was being sold to foreign companies so don't expect all your calls to stop I guess.

I'm getting irretated with the calls I'm getting on my cell phone number.  I wonder where they got my mobile number from.

This number has been calling me all week at 6:30pm. I just called the number and it says that the number is not in service/
