I obtained an online quote by putting my phone #.  After 2 weeks, my phone started ringing.  I just called +1 800-268-8955 and asked my # to be removed.

Got 2 calls from this same number.  No answers.I did get a call from TD ins. trying to sell insurance.  Same number.

**IMPORTANT READ THIS**I have been receiving calls from (416) 484-5165 every day for weeks.  There is no pattern - evenings, morning, afternoons.  It does not leave messages and it (the "dialer") may hang up when answered.  If you call this number you will get a voice message stating that the system cannot recieve calls, only makes calls.I have confirmed that this is TD Meloche Monnex Insurance (I signed up recently for home insurance at a reduced rate for university alumni).  All new customers are, by default, put on an electronic call list.  Call 1-+1 800-268-8955, skip the menu by pressing "0", and specify you are a customer and want to speak to a broker about your account (the receptionist who answers initially cannot help you).  Once you get through to the broker, tell him or her your phone number so the broker can look up your account.  Tell the broker that you are receiving too many calls from the call centre at 416-484-5165 and you want to be removed from the electronic call list.  The "broker" should confirm removal over the phone right then and there.  If the person cannot confirm, ask to speak to someone who can (because you are obviously not speaking to the right person).And that should be the end of it!

We've experienced the very same thing for the past 5 days with regard to (416) 484-5165.  Calls have been received daily, with either no message being left or no one on the other line when there's someone home to receive the call.  Further, the phone number is for outgoing calls only.
