I used to work for the Royal York. It might have been for a lost item or probably to follow up with the recent/frequent clients and offer a free welcome back night or service within the hotel.

Yep, I picked up the phone, they asked for my husband, I said he wasn't home, they said they just talk to him, and to have him call the The Fairmont Royal York. (He was never talking to them) he's tried calling back, as we stayed at the Royal York last month, thinking maybe something was wrong with the billing, but the phone just rings. So we did a search on the #. Found this site. Wonder what the point to this is? To see if were home? Why say the Royal York? Why did he not want to sell me whatever he's selling? It just really seems strange, very strange.

Yes, it is the Royal York Hotel. It's possibly from the main truck. I received a call from a friend staying there, and this number displayed.
