Yes, 416 is Canada area code. These telemarketers are stupid people because they think the rest of us are stupid as they are. They call my business line and don't realize I have caller ID and don't answer these #s that look suspicious. This # is now on my list of #s to watch and I have fun receiving these calls only to her these morons hang up !!!!!

Phone number calls hangs up

I keep getting called from this number concerning my computer running slowly due to errors

I got the same kind of call today.  A man with a foreign accent asked me if I was the owner of this phone.  I said I was.  He said I have been selected to receive money from the government.  He said I would receive $8,000.   He asked, "Is that good?"  I said, "No".  He said, "Why is that not good?"  I said I want more than that.  He got flustered and said, "But the government is going to give you money".....I said, "I don't believe you and don't call me anymore!"  and I hung up.

The caller, clearly from another country, argued with me about being a scam, knew I had a Mac computer----How?????? Clearly a scam.  Watch out, their back!

A person with an accent similar to the accent of people I know who come from India called and said he was calling about my computer. This is about the fourth or fifth call of this sort I have had. The caller alleges that my computer has viruses, which he will show me . He then instructs me to go to the events log and claims that they are all instances of viruses. According to the caller, this can all be fixed by upgrading to Windows Pro, for $250, which I am to send to "Rajesh" via Wells Fargo. At this point I was laughing too much to continue, and hung up.That call happened last fall. They have started up again. I just got the fifth call this week

A guy called us today and tried to tell me a story that he was from MICROSOFT; he needed to call me, because they (mircosoft) were receiving messages always when one "of your computers" is booting; "we always receive e-mails from you". He wanted me to turn on my computer and give him further details. As a specialist I started asking him some nice question from a lay customers position and he tried to pull my leg ...: Our "system would create problems with youtube and facebook". "He urgently needed to help us." So I asked him, how he had gotten our phone number (because it's blocked). He shot back at me: "From your registration!" That was a big mistake, because we're registered outside the U.S.. The caller definitifely tried to start a phishing, the caller /-company is a scammer. I told him clearly that his call was documented and that our lawyers will sue him and who ever is behind it, if he calls us again. He hung up ... .
