Wow!  I got a call on February 6, 2010 by a very heavy accented guy and I told him I was busy, so he gave me the name of the company and the phone number: Liberty International Financial, (905) 595-4511.  Needless to say, I am on the don't call list in Canada.

My husband received a call from a gentleman with a very thick accent who was very determined to speak to me and not him.  When I answered he asked me if I paid interest on my credit cards, as soon as he asked that I told him I wasn't interested and he tried telling me he was trying to help me. I didn't give him enough time to say anything else, I hung up on him.

Thank you for all the people who take the time to write about these scam artists.  The bells went off the instant I got the first call from a chinese man that says " Hi carrie, It's Larry and I want to give you 3.9% on your existing credit cards."Then when he asked for the numbers on the back...like dahhh.  I asked how I was approved and he said because of my credit rating.  Well, I told him to call me back and then called my friend who is a mortgage broker.  Found out that first...it is illegal for anyone to look into your credit without your consent and second - notify the RCMP.So I am going to right now as I can see how some people could very well think this is legit.Thanks again!

Received call from Liberty Financial Group, after being asked a few questions I was pre-approved for interest rates as low as 3.9% I was transferred then to a manager. The manager, Adam Bone, knew my full name, and my address. After telling him my bank he confirmed the 1800 number for my mastercard and asked me how my name appeared on the card. He then said to allow him to complete the process I had to give him the last eight digits of my credit card. After telling him no several times he then told me to go to their website: www.libertyifg.com for more information and that I could call him back at (905) 595-4511 to complete the transaction whenever I wanted.
