They called my office number; I did press 1 and when the rep came on - some promo company - asked how could he help and I told him to remove my number from all future phone call solicitations. Said he'd do it (would take 48 hours) ..... now time will tell.

I have been on a crusade to shut these scammers down. They have recently gone as far as using some innocent person's phone number as their caller-id. The caller-ID started showing up as a local number the last few weeks and with the same area code and first 3 pre-fix's as my number. I thought it was a co-worker but alas it was the pre-recorded call. It ranges anywhere from, 'you've won a trip to the bahamas', 'for being a westjet customer you've won a prize', 'for being a telus customer you have won a prize, 'you have won 2000 airmile points', insurance agencies etc...it is never ending...i am just mad that they are using innocent people's caller ID's...probably using mine too! I called WestJet, Sandals Resort (because they posed as them on my first call i pressed "1") and today, telus. It just sucks no one can seem to get to the bottom of who is originating these calls. At the end of the day, someone said they were "Global group travels" and have a special offer from Sandos Resort in the Riviera maya...but who knows. When i asked more questions, they hung up on me. TWICE! If I were Sandos - and they aren't employing marketing people to make these calls, i would worry about 3rd party ruining their reputation!!I hope some big company finds them then burns their phone lines!!!

Got a call from this number through my Rogers cellphone but I didn't pick up. No voicemail. I searched the number through google and notice it's a scam!.

Called me twice in a row. They hung up each time before I can pick up. They didn't leave a voice mail. They have called every other day so far

They called themselves "Global Group Travel", but as soon as I asked them to confirm this, they hung up. It's obvious they know they'd be charged with a $10,000 fine for calling while on the DNC list.I've not bothered to check, but I'm sure you'd find that no such company exists. They will likely be a numbered entity. Their number is owned by Bell, and for the person asking why you can't call them back, it's because they've chosen to let you see "(403) 912-8989" but that's not the number associated with the SIP they're using to dial you from. They're using IP telephony, and it does make it more difficult to figure out who they are and how to get them charged. Anyway, obvious scam.

Just got a call from them myself, didn't get to phone in time to answer, I was frantically trying to get to the phone cause looking for work it's a sell I bought just for the purpose of job hunting it's a unlisted number. I did check into 403 area code and it's from Alberta somewhere:)
