Oh yeah, I called the number from a landline and got a recording saying I had just dialed a number that isn't in use....

Called me twice in a row. They hung up each time before I can pick up. They didn't leave a voice mail. They have called every other day so far

So I got the same call again as before: number calls, I answer, it says that I've won AirMiles and to press 1 to claim it, I press 1 to get an agent to put me on their DNC List, always transfers to no agent/agent disconnects/busy signal. However this time I heard them say VBN before they disconnected. VBN is also mentioned here. The number that called this time is (807) 977-8989 (but same as when I had this (403) 912-8989 number calls).Went to http://vacationsbynewport.com/Their incoming number is 1-+1 888-791-5890 and they are definitely a telemarketing company since I heard the din of call centre in the background. I asked to be put on their DNC list. He asked for my name and I said Seth and then he asks for my LAST NAME!!?? I said, 'No, the law is that I give you my number and you don't call me for 5 years' The operator seemed exasperated the whole time "I'm just a worker here" he said. So I said 'fine I'll talk to your supervisor', he wasn't willing to do that so I gave a fake last name... They don't need that, sheesh.BETTER NOT CALL ME FOR A WHILE NOW...I'm not even sure if this it's a CRTC issue since the calls are coming from 'merica.

Got a call and it was a recorded message. Tried calling back using google phone (gmail) and the idiot on the other end just hung up. Keep calling these bastards and annoy them.

Called my cell around 4pm...computer-generated voice stated I have been selected to win 2500 air miles..press 1 to accept. I hung up. Coincidentally, this webpage has an ad for an AMEX Air miles credit card...

I have been on a crusade to shut these scammers down. They have recently gone as far as using some innocent person's phone number as their caller-id. The caller-ID started showing up as a local number the last few weeks and with the same area code and first 3 pre-fix's as my number. I thought it was a co-worker but alas it was the pre-recorded call. It ranges anywhere from, 'you've won a trip to the bahamas', 'for being a westjet customer you've won a prize', 'for being a telus customer you have won a prize, 'you have won 2000 airmile points', insurance agencies etc...it is never ending...i am just mad that they are using innocent people's caller ID's...probably using mine too! I called WestJet, Sandals Resort (because they posed as them on my first call i pressed "1") and today, telus. It just sucks no one can seem to get to the bottom of who is originating these calls. At the end of the day, someone said they were "Global group travels" and have a special offer from Sandos Resort in the Riviera maya...but who knows. When i asked more questions, they hung up on me. TWICE! If I were Sandos - and they aren't employing marketing people to make these calls, i would worry about 3rd party ruining their reputation!!I hope some big company finds them then burns their phone lines!!!
