This crowd are at it again.  I've had at least 12 phone calls from them today alone. They are trading as Global Group Travel and BoomerangTravelClub.com. I tried keeping them on line for as long as I could to find out something about them. In most cases when I sounded sceptical, or they suspected that I knew it was a scam, they just hang up on me. I run a business and I have 100 phone numbers as part of a PABX. They just seem to be ringing everyone of my numbers in turn - very frustrating and a waste of my time.   It would be nice if the Police did something about these con-men.

Alex, how do we qualify if we have nothing to add? I'm assuming your not a moderator and just a telephone expert.  I'm not sure why you commented and repeated everything people have already said.  Thanks for the laugh.

Got a call and it was a recorded message. Tried calling back using google phone (gmail) and the idiot on the other end just hung up. Keep calling these b*****ds and annoy them.

Scam- scam  -They called from 1 (403) 905-8000 and introduced themselves as West Jet vacation promotions and asked if I am interested in a great deal 6 days and 5 nights in Mexico to press 1, when I did I got rerouted somewhere. Guy by name Purgeon answered and said there is a great deal to Maya Rivera 6 days 5 nights I have 18 months to book this. Then he continued and said I had  a second trip also to Orlando Florida 5 day 4 nights that I had 15 months to book from the time I booked May Riviera trip but I had to pay $ 999 today by using visa or master card. So I got the same call again as before: number calls, I answer, it says that I've won AirMiles and to press 1 to claim it, I press 1 to get an agent to put me on their DNC List, always transfers to no agent/agent disconnects/busy signal. However this time I heard them say VBN before they disconnected. VBN is also mentioned here. The number that called this time is (807) 977-8989 (but same as when I had this (403) 912-8989 number calls).Went to http://vacationsbynewport.com/Their incoming number is 1-+1 888-791-5890 and they are definitely a telemarketing company since I heard the din of call centre in the background. I asked to be put on their DNC list. He asked for my name and I said Seth and then he asks for my LAST NAME!!?? I said, 'No, the law is that I give you my number and you don't call me for 5 years' The operator seemed exasperated the whole time "I'm just a worker here" he said. So I said 'fine I'll talk to your supervisor', he wasn't willing to do that so I gave a fake last name... They don't need that, sheesh.BETTER NOT CALL ME FOR A WHILE NOW...I'm not even sure if this it's a CRTC issue since the calls are coming from 'merica.
