I'm in Vancouver (area code 604)have rec'd a call from this number for the past 3 days / when I answer, there's nothing. maybe they see my number come up on the national 'DO NOT CALL' list at that point?ANNOYING

I'm in Vancouver and got the same call today.
They asked the same question "Is the lady of the house home?" and answered with a quick 'No'.
After about 3 seconds the reply was "I understand, Thank You" and they hung up.
It is an automated service trying to sell you subscriptions to a movie service.
It's dumb though, it only understands YES and NO. If you say something unexpected... that's where the 'just a moment I'll put you through to my supervisor comes in', they try to transfer the call to a live operator, if one is available.
Good voice though, obviously a digital recording and not synthesized speech.
I wonder how many idiots they actually get to sign-up for a service you KNOW is going to be run honestly?
Lets see, they need your credit card number and are going to send you one movie a month for you to try until you opt out....

If this organization is so legit, why do they hang up instead of leaving a message when they encounter a voice mail, and why do they automatically put a busy signal on your phone, and why do they call themselves " ... Telecom" ?

Further, because they call so frequently knowing there is no interest, I consider them to be nothing but an harassment and if they do not stop I will lay a complaint with both the telephone company and the police.  So, I hope they monitor these messages.

Called home at 12:45pm.  Asks for lady of the house, saying they are conducting a survey on movies and the effects they have on children.  Saying it would take 90 seconds and asking if it was OK.  I said 'No, sorry' and was hung up on.  RUDE B%#*H.
