ABM reported Criminal Investigation Dept from 347-637-8592 as a Unknown annoying caller

HOW IT WORKS!!! Im well educated so that kinda makes me a debt collectors worst nightmare 1)They call stating the are from the "criminal nvestigation department" or "legal" but when you ask them to repeat the name of the company and for a full address, they get irate immediately. Theyll tell you its somewhere in NY. Ask who you are speaking with and full spelling of their name. You will get a variation of names from Damon Butler or Dannon Butler to an Alber Smith. I got a name so crazy the last time I called, I cant even remember in my pistivity while typing this. 2)Ask them who they are collecitng for (check your records as you may have a "Paid" letter for this same debt). Acknowledge the fact that they may have bougth a debt (or is it deeper than that?) for pennies on the dollar. Acknowledge the fact that this debt may be out of "stat" in the state you live in. So now its time to as for a "Verification of Debt" and see how that goes. But you have already acknowledged the fact that they HAVE to provide this for you or they cannot continue to collect this debt. Too bad they tell you "They are not giving you anything and that they are sending an officer to your home to arrest you." Totally illegal and just not truel!! 3) For some reason these people (or this one person with different names) have some pretty identifying information on you. Did they really buy a debt or hack into some information we are just not privy to? Never confirm your SS# or you addressuntil they agree to provide the verification of debt. Never ever give banking information over the phone!! 4) By this time ther is a full blown argument where the so called "collector" is screaming at you and refusing to tell you anything you need to know regarding this debt. Now he wants you to fax him a letter stating that you authorize them to take payments out of your account on whatever given dates. PEOPLE!! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A SCAM !! I know so because they told me.

my husband got unintelligible voice mail from this #. Something about our adult son and his SS# and it sounded like he wanted my husbands SS# and something about their "case".  Then asked us to call 347-637-6463 with in the next two hours
