I've been getting threatening calls from this company "ncir" with different phone numbers. One time I called back and the guy i spoked to couldn't even speak proper english however he asked for my sin number. Also he said that I owe 1800 for using hbc credit card that I never had in my life. I use different bank. So I insisted I never had hbc credit card in my life. Then the guy hang up first.

I've been getting calls from a number which never leaves a voicemail. I phoned it back in case it had something to do with work. The person refused to identify what company it was, said his name was "Jose (indecipherable)" and started yelling at me saying I owed money to the Bay : about $3100.  I had a card from HBC 18 years ago with a limit of $500, after becoming disabled I tore it up. There is no possible way I owe any money to them unless my identity has been stolen. I said this to "Jose" he said he had my credit report. I said, fine, this is a case of identity theft, I will contact the credit report agencies and fix the issue. He started yelling that I DID owe the money and kept yelling. When he finally took a breath I said I will not speak to anyone who is verbally abusive, he started yelling again and hung up on me!I do not owe any credit agency money. I've only used cash for years. I have no idea how he got my cell number as it is supposed to be private. I've received no paper/mail. Obviously I will be making sure I have not been the victim of identity theft, however I highly doubt anyone using my name could have gotten a credit card worth thousands of dollars considering I've been on permanent disability since 2000.

Never answer their calls, no need toeven if you pay  them, it wont help you, just check your province or estate S.O.L  "statute of limitaions"In the province of Ontario the SOL is 2 years if your debt is older than the statue of limitationno lawyer or bill collector has a chance in the world to take you to court.relax and good luck.Jc

I got exactly the same type of call. It's 'automated', threatening legal action..saying there is an action that has been filed against me & it would be in my best interest to phone them before the end of the day. They asked for "Mike" (I can't recall the last name as it was garbled). There isn't anyone here by that name.Also, I've been getting calls (with live voices) asking for "Mike"...again, I tell them they have the wrong number.I'm at the point now that if I receive any more of these calls, I'll report it as harrassment. Enough already.

I get those calls... I'm sure they are on commission, so no wonder he's yelling.... he's hungry ...LOL

This type of call is not only disgusting; the people responsible should be taken to task. No reputable company would threaten legal action against someone over the telephone. It's done through proper channels ANDlegal paperwork is always submitted.

WHY would you pay somebody when you know you don't owe anything!? I must have misunderstood your point in this one. These people are doing nothing short of harrassment.Why in blue blazes would they call from B.C. when people live in Ontario? THAT must tell you something too.
