I received one call from (204) 977-8686 about 3 weeks ago and haven't had one since I installed "Buzz Off" on my Blackberry 8530. It cost me $1.99. I do believe that it works in blocking these annoying calls. HOWEVER, if they change phone numbers then you have to block them one at a time, but I feel the benefits outweigh that minor inconvenience. I'm on the Telus network by the way.
Yes, the Do Not Call list is a joke. How do they get the list but from the very people we entrust to stop being harrassed by them. "Please don't bother xxxx at phone number xxx-xxx-xxxx" How in hell does that protect me?

Have gotten this phone number TWICE in the last week (Didn't get me the first time, you would think that would be a hint)
First time was because I was a bell customer (which I am not) and the second was 1 million air miles. . both computer generated female voice.
Never press a number. .
BTW The option for call type should include something to the effect of "illegal" or "misrepresentation" or "Scam" I would think scam would be more common than "prank call" nowadays.

Called my Bell Canada cell phone. Left a message that was 2 seconds long: "Press 1"
We have a double whammy here, phone on "do not call list" and the fact they are calling a cell phone that should be automatically blocked.

Got a call from this number this morning at work. Damn telemarketers...
ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH
I am sick and f***ing tired of getting calls from this f***ing number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lefty
A rough transcript of my interaction with this caller.
Automated Message: "This is a message to inform you that you have won 100,000 airmiles. Press 1 to continue."
Operator: "Hello. Can you please confirm that you are over the age of 25".
Me: "Hi. Can I ask where you are calling from and what you are calling about?"
Operator: "I can put you through to a manger, but first I need you to answer the screening questions. Are you over the age of 25? Do you have a valid credit card (Visa, MC, AMEX)?"
Me: "Well it's quite obvious that this is a phishing scam, and I will be reporting this number to Bell. Goodbye."
I am worried that this might affect other people who are not so skeptical.
